Hey I’m Archie and the newest member of staff at Educational Diversity. I've been employed to help support pupils social and emotional wellbeing, as well as improving motivation and literacy. You might see me around the Chrysalis Project just chilling in the classrooms or outside playing with pupils at break. I love being here and how much attention I get and everyone always seems excited to see me when I arrive. My mummy works here too, she teaches and sometimes makes me part of the lesson. Pupils say the lessons are more fun when I’m involved.
On Thursdays mum takes me to visit the KS2 pupils at Pegasus and we deliver some animal assisted therapy and pupils read to me to improve their literacy. I love hearing all their stories and they grow in confidence every week. I’m still a puppy so got lots to learn but that’s what school is for and pupils and staff help me learn more and more every day.
Following my first half term at Educational Diversity mum asked staff and pupils for feedback and it’s been amazing, 100% of staff and pupil agreed that pupil’s moods and behaviour had improved and everyone says they have enjoyed me being around.
I love working at Educational Diversity and how friendly and welcoming everyone has been and looking forward to making new friends. I’ve recently joined Facebook, Instagram and Twitter so would love some new followers. You can follow me on Twitter and Instagram @ArchieTherapy or Facebook at www.facebook.com/archietherapy. I look forward to seeing you all soon.
