The Vocational Centre, 24 Low Moor Road, Blackpool, FY2 0PG

Our vocational and specialist tuition centre is based on Low Moor Road in Bispham. Within this setting we cater predominantly for students in KS3 and KS4 who require a bespoke curriculum alongside personalised learning programmes.  In order to engage these young people back into learning, we provide vocational activities such as catering, Digital Media, Construction, Motor Vehicles and Hair and Beauty.  Colleagues from Blackpool and Fylde College deliver some of the more specialised curriculum areas and students have the opportunity to get some foundations in level 1 qualifications that they are interested in pursuing Post 16.  The pastoral element and wrap around support that the young people are given here enables them to not only feel safe and valued, but also to gain confidence in their abilities once again.

Due to a number of complexities around some of these young people, some  are taught on a 1:1 or in small groups, focusing on key social skills that will enable them to be successful.  We work collaboratively with a range of agencies and external professionals to provide every opportunity for every young person to thrive.

Alongside centre based learning, a number of young people access college based programmes and extended work placements, providing valuable employability skills that will support them in their transition into adult life.
